Questions and answers

The questions people ask most, answered briefly. If yours is missing - write to us, we answer fast.

I met a homeless animal. What do I do?+

Start a profile for it: a photo, a name, a place - it takes a minute. From then on the animal has a story: record how you helped, and people nearby will see it. If help is needed urgently, add an SOS mark - those profiles stand out immediately.

Is it free?+

Yes. All of TailBook's core functionality is free for animal lovers, volunteers and help groups. The platform lives on community support; exactly how is laid out openly on the transparency page.

Who sees my data?+

By default - almost nobody. Your public profile is off until you switch it on in settings: until then strangers see neither your name nor your photo. In an animal's public story, actions are shown without names; members of the network see each other - that is part of working together.

How do I make my profile public - and why?+

In settings, with one switch. A public profile shows your name, photo, a few words about you and your ways of helping - and lets you share your contribution by link. It switches off in the same place, any time.

How do I delete an animal's profile or my account?+

Account deletion is in settings: the request goes to the team and is done by hand, so an accidental tap cannot erase a history. To delete an animal's profile, write to us - we will handle it together, carefully.

Where do donations go, and what do you take?+

A donation to support the app goes to running and developing TailBook. A donation to an animal goes to helping that specific animal. There is a fee that covers the payment processor's fee, and a platform fee - it helps TailBook live and grow. All spending information is available on the animal's page and appears in the patron's report.

What can I see without signing up?+

Animals and their stories, organizations, services, useful articles - and this page. Recording actions and the personal sections open after signing in: help must be signed by a real participant.

We are a volunteer group with no legal entity. Can we join?+

Yes. An informal group is a full participant of TailBook: shared animals, a shared history, a shared reputation. No legal entity is required to take part or to look after animals.

How do I contact you?+

The easiest way is to write: email, Telegram and Instagram are at the bottom of every page. The founder's contacts are on the About page. For partnerships, see the Cooperation page.
