Ambassador participation terms

Effective date: 9 August 2026 · Last updated: 9 August 2026

This document is available in several languages. The English version is the authoritative one. It covers representing TailBook; using the platform is covered by the Terms of Use.

These terms describe what taking part in the TailBook ambassador programme means. They are short on purpose: the programme is built on trust, and a document nobody reads protects nobody.

1. What an ambassador is

An ambassador introduces TailBook to people and organizations in their own city or country, shares local context with us, and helps us understand what is needed there.

An ambassador is not a legal representative of TailBook, is not our employee, agent, or contractor, and does not make decisions on our behalf.

2. What an ambassador may do

  • Tell people about TailBook and what it can do today.
  • Introduce us to volunteers, shelters, vets, organizations and potential partners.
  • Use the TailBook name and mark within the rules of the media kit.
  • Share feedback about what works and what does not.

3. What an ambassador must not do

  • Sign agreements or make commitments in TailBook's name.
  • Collect money on TailBook's behalf, in any form.
  • Give official comments to press or public authorities in TailBook's name without agreeing them with us first.
  • Promise capabilities TailBook does not have, or name dates we have not published.
  • Publish information about animals, their owners, addresses or photographs without the consent required for it.

4. Money

Participation involves no payment for invited participants or organizations. There is no percentage, no fee per participant, and no bonus for a cooperation that begins. Ambassadors receive standing, materials, access and other non-monetary benefits described on the programme page.

If paid roles or projects become possible in the future, they will be agreed separately and in writing. Nothing in these terms creates an expectation of payment.

5. Data about referrals

Each ambassador receives a personal invite link. When a person or an organization arrives through it, we record which link they came through, once, at the moment their record is created.

We use that record only to count contribution within the programme. An ambassador sees the number of people who arrived through their link and stayed active - never those people's personal data, contacts or activity.

6. Levels and certificates

Levels reflect what actually happened and are decided by TailBook. A certificate is issued for a level reached and can be verified publicly by its code.

We may withdraw a certificate if these terms are broken. A withdrawn certificate remains publicly verifiable and shows that it was withdrawn, together with the date - we do not delete records.

7. Ending participation

An ambassador may leave at any time, with one message and no explanation owed.

We may end participation if these terms are broken - in particular §3 - or if the programme itself changes. Certificates already issued stay valid for the period they were earned in, unless they are withdrawn under §6.

10. Brand and materials

You may use the TailBook name and mark as the media kit describes them, unchanged. You may not alter the mark, register domains, accounts or company names containing it, or present yourself as a TailBook employee or office. You may not use a shelter's, clinic's, organization's or municipality's brand in programme materials without that organization's permission.

Materials we provide remain ours. Content you create for the programme stays yours, and you grant us a licence to use it for the programme and its communications.

11. Expenses and taxes

Participation involves no obligatory expenses. Costs you choose to incur are not reimbursed unless we agreed them in writing beforehand. You are responsible for any taxes on benefits you receive.

12. Age

Participation requires being 18 or older. If you are younger, we are glad of your help through the ordinary volunteer route rather than through this programme.

13. Data you pass to us

When you introduce an organization, you pass us somebody else's contact details. Please pass only what that person expects us to have, tell them we will write, and never collect contacts from bought or scraped lists. We identify ourselves in the first message and always offer a way to say «not now» - and we honour it.

14. No obligation to achieve anything

There is no plan, no quota and no schedule. Nothing here obliges you to reach a result, and there is no penalty for not reaching one. This is not employment, an agency, or a partnership, and nothing in these terms creates one.

15. Suspension and exclusion

We may pause or end participation for a breach of these terms, with an explanation. Certificates already issued stay valid for the period they were earned in, unless withdrawn under §6.

16. Where this applies

The programme is international, and local law comes first: advertising, personal data and volunteering rules differ by country. These terms are governed by the law of Montenegro, and we may decline participation from jurisdictions where we cannot lawfully operate.

17. Code of conduct

Be honest. Do not spam. Respect the rules of the platforms you post on and of any institution you speak in. Do not mislead, do not buy followers or reviews, and do not discriminate. Treat animals and people in the stories you tell with the care their situation deserves.

18. Changes

We may update these terms as the programme develops. Material changes will be communicated to active ambassadors before they take effect.

19. Contact

Questions about the programme, the media kit, or a situation you are unsure about: tailbookme@gmail.com. An awkward question always beats a wrong promise made in our name.
